Amy Chatten, MPH, is the co-founder of Mammography Educators. She has her Master’s in Public Health with a focus on maternal and child health.
She worked as the Manager of Breast Imaging at the University of California San Diego Health System for over five years and has experience leading programs for over seven years. Her expertise is in clinical operations, program planning, and analysis.
Ms. Chatten was also selected as the Quality Improvement Leader for the Department of Radiology at the University of California San Diego. She spearheaded the effort to achieve the prestigious American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Center of Excellence designation within her first year and a half as Manager of the department.
Amy has over a decade of experience in program planning and analysis, as well as training in Six Sigma and Kaizen for performance improvement strategies. She is focused on providing a superior patient experience with an emphasis on high quality care and patient safety. Her approach to providing excellent patient care includes building solid relationships with radiologists, staff and referring providers. Amy strives to expand and elevate the role of the technologist and their sense of appreciation as a valued member of the breast imaging team.
Amy provides onsite consultation services related to MQSA inspections, Joint Commission and OSHA compliance, accreditation programs, workflow analysis, patient satisfaction scores, and quality improvement strategies to breast imaging facilities throughout the country.
Amy is originally from the Midwest, but has lived out in San Diego for over 7 years. She achieved her BA from the University of Michigan and her graduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Amy loves traveling, waterskiing, cooking, exercising in the beautiful southern California outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. Most importantly, she is the proud mom of amazing twin two-year-old boys and wife to an incredible husband.
